Game Review: Sharks @ Blue Jackets (12/5/21)

Tonight was a back and forth game, all night, as the Sharks visited the Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena.  Boqvist would open the scoring for the game and for the Blue Jackets.  Just minutes later though the Sharks, Bonino, would score with just second left in Period 1.  This would tie us at 1 goal each, heading into the second period.  

Karlsson would score just 22 seconds into Period 2.  Kuraly would even the score at 53 seconds into Period 2.  As I said, there was a lot of back and forth in this game, but that makes for great hockey.  At 8:44 the Sharks would score again, by way of Burns.  3-2 Sharks.  17:49, Sillinger, the youngest player in the NHL would find the net again.  

As Period 3 would just get underway, Roslovic would give the Blue Jacket back the lead, 4-3 at 1:57.  Boqvist would score again, at 5:34, 5-3 Blue Jackets.  The Sharks would rally for a goal at 10:11 to come within a goal.  Nyquist would score, but it would be sadly called off-sides, much to the home team fans' annoyance.  He would get a chance at redemption, but would pass the puck to Texier, 18:53 was the time of that final goal.  

The cannon got a workout tonight, as the home team Columbus Blue Jackets won 6-4.  Sillinger would receive the third star of the game, his tying goal in the second period secured this, no doubt. Second Star would go to Peeke, for his incredible defensive efforts.  First star, no surprise here, goes to Boqvist.  Rightfully so with his double goals, making up 1/3 of the final score.   

The boys need to keep the cheering from home in the back of their mind, as they will hit the road again, this time Canada bound.  We also won't have to wait long for this game, as the Blue Jackets will face the Maple Leafs in less than 48 hours.  Tuesday night, December 7th, with a puck drop at 7:00 PM.
