Who's Out And Who's In Net (November 6, 2021)

Injury Reserve List:

It's been a rough few weeks for some very key Columbus Blue Jackets players.  First we have Dean Kukan, who is very early into his 8 week absence with a broken wrist.  Most recently, Friday, we learned that the team would be without Patrik Laine, likely for 6 weeks.  He suffered a strained oblique on Wednesday, when the Blue Jackets played the Colorado Avalanche in an away game, at Colorado.

Covid-19 List:

I agree with the fans, completely, Max Domi can't catch a break.  He returned 2 months early from what had been expected to be a half-year shoulder recovery.  Then, he suffered 3 fractured ribs, which he'd been expected to miss a month for.  Instead, he wanted to play hockey, and came back after two weeks!  What a player.  Unfortunately, there is now returning early from the Covid-19 List, which he was placed on last week.  We wish him the very best and count down the days until he is back on the ice, again.

Tonight's Game:

We now know via @JacketsInsider, on Twitter, that after Korpisalo's 2 game starts, and wins, that tonight it's Merzlikins time to goaltend, again.

I for one am also excited to see this new, line due to Laine being out for an extended period of time, some adjustments were made.  This new line will consist of the young Chinakhov and Sillinger, playing with the veteran Voracek.  It could be a dangerous line for the Avalanche, as you have a man known for his assists, in Voracek, and two young men with a laser like shot.  (Again, thank you to @JacketsInsider for posting this line change so I could analyze it.)

Lastly, it will be fun to see Stenlund back in the lineup.  He will work tonight on the third line with Hofmann and Roslovic.  A line which has proven itself strong in the past, and although their third musketeer is out, in Laine, Stenlund should get the job done just fine.

It is sure to be an exciting night.  Remember, after tonight the next game for the Columbus Blue Jackets isn't until November 12rh, against the Washington Capitals.  Thankfully, our first meeting with them since the 2019-20 NHL season will be here, in Nationwide Arena.  A little home-ice advantage never hurts, especially against them.  So, soak it all in tonight, before we have to go 5 whole days without a CBJ Hockey Game!

Go CBJ!
