Ducks @Blue Jackets 12/9/21- Game Review

Period 1 We'd have a goal first from Texier,  In the Buddy Robinson (Ducks) Vs. younger brother Eric Robinson (Blue Jacket) battle, Blue Jackets Robinson would gain an assist point from this goal.  It would come at 8:02.  Lundestrom would then score for the Ducks at 10:23, tying the game a 1-1.

In Period 2, Werenski would find the goal early, within seconds, but it would be ruled off-sides.  The Blue Jackets have not been having good luck with these calls as of late.  So, the score would remain 1-1.  For those paying close attention to tonight's game, not long aft4er this goal was ruled no goal, Boqvist was injured and taken back to the locker room.  He would not return to the ice.  Period 2 would just continue with a lot of great defense, penalty kills, and no scores for either team.  We remain in a 1-1 tie.

Period 3 would continue with this great back and forth of well played hockey, for both the Ducks and Blue Jackets.  The home team would have some great shots on goal in the last seconds of this period, but none would go in.  With this the horn would sound to end regulation.  3 on 3 would occur as we headed into a familiar situation for CBJ players and fans, Overtime!

With 34 shots on goal for the Blue Jackets, and 26 for the Ducks, Overtime would not decide a winner tonight.  Both goaltenders held strong as each offense, and defense at times, ripped shot after shot at them.  It had been an impressive game up to this point, and Overtime didn't disappoint either!  So, Shootout time 5th Line!

Zegras would score first in round 2 of the Shootout for the Ducks.  However, Voracek would score in round 3, forcing an Overtime in Overtime.  Unfortunately, Rakell would score for the Ducks and this would end in their favor.  The Ducks would pull out a Shootout, Overtime win over the Blue Jackets, 2-1 is your final.  The conclusion of the game held some fireworks of words between some players, including Merzlikins.  No clue what was said but the teams split before more could occur as the game was over.

It's a hard loss as the Blue Jackets go on the road for an extended period.  The first game on the road will be in Seattle to face the newest NHL Club, the Kraken.  Puck drop is a late 10:00 PM Easter Standard Time on Saturday.  So, don't forget your coffee or hot chocolate, you know, whatever keeps you awake for game time!  See you then 5th Line.

Go CBJ!
