Game Recap Blue Jackets @ Capitals
Forgive me if tonight's post lacks a bit of flair, I was at a holiday party. However, I do have scores to report for you. So, let's go!
In Period 1, at 4:33 the Capitals opened up the scoring with a goal from Protas. This would be the only score of the first period, as the Blue Jackets would stay within a goal.
In Period 2 the Capitals would find the goal again. Ovechkin would find the net at 3:12.
In the third period Robinson would find the Capitals net, preventing a shutout at least. This goal would come at 6:28. However, Hathaway would finish the game with an empty net at 18:33. The Blue Jackets would sadly lose, again on the road, 3-1.
As I said, for once I actually didn't see the game. So, I won't comment on offense, defense, or goaltending, sorry. As I said though, at least it wasn't a shutout. Right now, the main focus for this team should be to regroup, and to forget this 0-4 road trip ever happened. They need to start fresh, and don't have much time to do so, as Sharks come to Nationwide Arena Sunday (tomorrow). It is expected that Elvis Merzlikins will be well enough to take the ice again, but I'll let you know for sure tomorrow. Regardless, for his sudden call up to the NHL on Friday, we can all agree that Tarasov did a fair job in his first two NHL games.
Go CBJ!
