Korpisalo Is Back At Practice (12/9/21)

The Blue Jackets are keeping me busy today, and I love it, especially when it's good news like this!  Two tweets from Jeff Svoboda today, the @JacketsInsider, regarding goaltender Joonas Korpisalo.

Tweet 1:  2h ago "Korpisalo also rotating in with Elvis Merzlikins and Daniil Tarasov during #CBJ morning skate."

Tweet 2:  2h ago "Joonas Korpisalo on the Nationwide Arena ice working with Manny Legace ahead of today’s #CBJ morning skate. Good to see Korpi feeling better."

100% agree with him, it's so nice to see him back on the ice, again, where he belongs. I know there were a lot of trade rumors, and I explored some of them yesterday in a post. However, after seeing him working with Legace again, I feel they might just be that again, rumors. Remember, we went through this in the summer, shortly before, and after, Matiss Kivlenieks tragic passing. He has a Save Percentage of .880, right now. This is over only 7 total games, 3 wins and 4 losses. If they want to get a good, fair trade for him, be it a player, Draft Picks, or a mix of both, he needs more ice time for marketing. Further, leaving us with Merzlikins and Tarasov, it seems dangerous to me, especially in a Winter Olympic year where the NHL has cleared players to go. I'd keep all three, now with this development, it just seems wise. If needed, trading is always an option before the 2022-23 NHL Season, after all.

Welcome back, Korpi!
