Patrik Laine Update (12/5/21)
It's hard to believe that it's now been over a month since hometown favorite, Patrik Laine, pulled his oblique. This was meant to put the talented Right Winger out for between 4 and 6 weeks. As of this past Friday, December 3rd, it has been 4 weeks since that night in Colorado, against the Avalanche. Sadly, this isn't the end of this story, as he also lost his dad during the process of physically healing. So, what does this mean? When could he return to the ice? Thanks to Jeff Svoboda (@JacketsInsider on Twitter) seeing our curiosity, he asked Head Coach Brad Larson for us. This is what he had to say:
"He’s coming along. It's day by day. Those injuries, they take time. ... As far as a timeline, I don't know." (Via @Jackets Insider on Twitter).
It is obvious why the fans are looking forward to his return. In his short season of only 9 games he had a total of 10 points. This consisted of 3 goals and 7 assists. Very impressive when you consider that 2 of those 3 goals were overtime winners. His absence as of recent has been felt for both the fans, and the team, I believe. They are doing fine in the meantime, but I feel we all can't wait for him to take the ice, again.
