Welcoming Patrik Laine Back To The Ice After Injury And Father's Loss

It's a great sight to see, Patrick Laine, back on the ice again with his Columbus Blue Jackets team.  Since his injury six weeks ago though, a lot has changed in Laine's life.  Sadly, this would be regarding the loss of his father.  I know many of the 5th Line, and his team, have wished his family and himself well during such a rough time.  Recovering from an injury is hard enough, but doing so when losing your "No. 1 fan" as Laine said, that's something else.  In encourage everyone to read my source's article, where Laine shares more details about his bond with his father, and their shared love of this great sport.  Truly, it's touching.

Regarding the recover from his strained oblique, Laine had this to say to Jeff Svoboda today.  ""It's going to take some time. As far as the injury, that's not even cleared yet. We have to make sure. There's a progression there we have to go through and talk with the trainers."  ( https://www.nhl.com/bluejackets/news/blue-jackets-forward-patrik-laine-returns-to-practice/c-328974244).

He also had some kind words for his teammates today, during this same interview, regarding how they had helped him through losing his father.    "It's definitely been the hardest times of my life, for sure. It's been difficult dealing with it, and I'm still going through it. It's still on my mind quite a bit, but this helps being here and have at least something to do during the day and something to look forward to."  He continued by also saying, " These guys have been great supporting me and my family, so it's always nice to come back here with open arms. It's definitely fun being on the ice with them again."  (https://www.nhl.com/bluejackets/news/blue-jackets-forward-patrik-laine-returns-to-practice/c-328974244).

Without a doubt it's great to see him back.  Not just for his skill, but to see him continue playing as a Blue Jacket, and for his dear father, again.  He has had an amazing start to this 2021-22 NHL Season, with 10 total points, and two overtime goal wins.  He is an asset to this team and Ohio.  He won't be back tomorrow night, many have stated, but this is great progress. I look forward to informing you all when he takes the ice, for his first game back, soon.
