4-3 Blue Jackets Beat Maple Leafs In Overtime! Berube Gets An Assist And Laine is On Fire!

The first goal and only goal of Period 1 would come from the Maple Leafs Bunting, at 12:50.  Have no fear, Laine is here!  He would tie the game at 6:13 into the second period.  Assists would go to our Captain, Jenner, and Werenski.  This score gives Laine a 10-Game-Point-Streak.  In addition, he helps Werenski move forward with one of his own, now spanning 6 games as well!  Now, Mathews would score for the Maple Leafs.  This would give them back the lead, 2-1, at 15:23.  Just 1:05 into Period 3 though, one Blue Jacket would show some mad skill, doing something that doesn't happen too often.  Berube would connect with Boqvist, who would then score.  This gives Goaltender, Berube, his 1st assist of the season, in only his second game of the season!  I mean, that's just cool!  What's even cooler than that?  Gaunce's goal at 7:13, which was unassisted, and gave the Blue Jackets a 3-2 lead.  This was their first lead of the night, too.  Unfortunately, in a controversial decision, as Spezza would score at 17:54.  This would tie the game, forcing the Blue Jackets to another Overtime.

Overtime you say?  If you blinked you missed it!  Another Laine goal at just 0:20 in!  This makes his total points 20 over his last 10 game fire streak, because lets face it, he's hotter than hot right now!  This makes 12 goals and 8 assists, for those still trying to keep track of his fire streak.  "Keep wining, it's a lot of fun."  Laine said in his post game, on ice interview, after earning the 1st star of the game tonight.  Personally, I think the 5th Line  completely agree with you, Laine!  Now, shoot that cannon again, thee guys earned it tonight, again!  Also, 2 goals and 2 points for CBJ, on 2/22/22.  If I were Laine I'd be getting some lottery tickets on the way home.  Just saying.

This is the third win in a row for the team, giving them a good high note to leave on, again.  Thursday, February 24th comes the biggest test since the Flames loss, for this undeniably improved Blue Jackets team.  The team will travel to Florida to face the Panthers.  Both meetings before were losses for the Blue Jackets, but I feel this time's going to be different, because this team seems different in the best of ways.  I hope I'm right 5th Line!

We'll talk soon!

Go CBJ!
