3 IN A ROW! Blue Jackets Top Senators 4-1 In Ottawa! 3/16/22

The Senators would open the scoring in Period 1, with a goal from Ennis.  Time of this goal was 9:48.  However, the Blue Jackets would come back and match that goal at 15:13.  This goal came from Roslovic.  The Assists would go to Werenski and Laine.  After 1 period we start a new game, tied at 1 goal a piece.

Period 2 was Blue Jackets X 2!  At 2:40 Robinson would have his 8th goal of the 2021-22 Season.  Assists would go to Werenski, again!  Also, the second assist would go to our star goaltender, Merzlikins!  Good for him, he's now had 2 Assists, so far, this season.  At 14:21 we'd have another Blue Jackets goal, this time from Roslovic, again.  No assists on this goal.

In Period 3 we wouldn't see a goal until a Kuraly empty netter at 18:23.  No Assists on this goal.  4-1 is your final in which the Offense, Defense and Goaltender all clicked, again.  For this reason I can't imagine any big moves happening before Monday's Trade Deadline.  I'll always stay on top of such, but see no real gain to be had in letting any of these men go.  For a young team and new coach this season, it's been above many expectations; even ones I had as a optimist!  This team is coming together like your Aunts questionable Jell-O mold at a potluck.  Just like in that situation, I suggest you leave it alone!

Injury notes:  We saw a hit on Domi, which he returned from.  Also, there was a shot from the Senators, which Peeke blocked.  It took him some time, but he also returned.  If these amounts to anything, or we have another surprise, before tomorrow night, I'll let you know 5th Line.

Looking ahead, the Capitals have already landed in Ohio for tomorrow night's game at Nationwide Arena.  Tomorrow night is vital to a final Playoff push.  We're chasing the Capitals, so a win for us and a loss for them would be huge.  Of course though, they know this too, and it will be a game to see.  Puck drop is set for the 7:00 PM EST.  Their last game was in New York, @ Islanders, last night.  It was a long game, 8th round shootout game the Capitals a narrow win, 4-3 was the final.  They are a physical team who can play and rebound fast, but that is a lot of game to play.  As such, I feel with their game last night and our game tonight, we'll have an even matchup.  With the playoffs on the line though, the battle will be real and one to surely not miss!

Fun Fact, more Blue Jackets history made tonight, via Jeff Svoboda!  "FINAL: #CBJ 4, Ottawa 1. It's a franchise-record 21st comeback win on the season, but in the end this one was pretty academic. Two goals from Roslovic, two-assist nights from Laine and Werenski, and the Jackets have won three in a row. See you tomorrow at home vs. Washington." It just goes to show, it isn't always how you start, but how you finish, as a team.

Go CBJ!
