Franchise History Made In Blue Jackets Loss To Kings- 3/5/22

Again, I was with you last night 5th Line, and I must say after being away for nearly 2 year it felt so good!  Even with the loss it was amazing to be immersed in the atmosphere that is a Columbus Blue Jackets NHL Game.  Having written for a sports site and now my own blog since May 2020 and not been to a game since starting, it's electric to be at a game now, more than ever before.

With that, we all know that last night was a bitter 4-3 loss to the L. A, Kings.  Although this happened some incredible team history was made last night too.  So, let's focus on the positive because even I wondered about this, and I was right!  At 15:34, in Period 2, Laine got the goal fun started.  The assist went to Nyquist.  At 15:59 Bjorkstrand expanded on Laine's goal fun.  Assists on his goal went to Kuraly.  At this port I looks at my mother, next to me, and screamed "do it again"!  Guess what?  They did it again, so I predicted history 5th Line, just saying.  The third goal came from Danforth at 16:20.  This was his own puck so no assists on that third goal.  These would be the 3 goals for the entire game, and in those 0:46 seconds those 3 goals made history as the fastest 3 goals to be scored by any Columbus Blue Jackets team!  (Via Ch 4 Sports Report on 11:00 PM News.)   See, there is always a silver lining, even in a loss.  Also, shout out to Merzlikins for some unbelievable saves.  The full team for an incredible effort and hunger to win tonight.  Plus, Werenski was on fire tonight in his first game back from injury.  So, well done to all.

I know many of you are probably sick of hearing this but remember, for the Rick Nash Jersey retirement, all fans are being asked to take your seats by 5:30 PM.  The doors for Nationwide Arena will open at 5:00 PM.  Plan accordingly, remember the Arnold is happening down town tonight as well.  I will not be there tonight, so I will have the typical lineup announcement and postgame as well for you here.  It's going to be an inspiring night for a man who truly deserves it.  Rick Nash will be the first of many Blue Jackets to come, who will see their number's circulation end, as their talents have made such immortalized in history.  I'll talk to you tomorrow 5th Line.

Go CBJ!
