Texier Update- Via My Discussion On "#CBJ Skate Space" With Dylan Tyrer and Jeff Svoboda- 3/2/22
If you don't listen to, and join in with #CBJ Skate Space with Dylan Tyrer and Jeff Svoboda, I encourage you to do so from now on. It's on Twitter Wednesday nights. I joined for the first time tonight, @cbj_writer, because I had a consistent question from many of you to ask the guys. Where is Alexander Texier, and why has he not returned to practice? Many have asked this due to his broken figure injury being estimated at a 4-week recovery. We're well into week 5 and my curiosity is with you 5th Line, so I asked! Further, they also gave me some insight into the Trade Rumors too, so here's what was said.
HIs injury just needs a little more time to heal, and with it being a broken finger, I'm not surprised. As I said in the show tonight when talking to the guys, Bally Sports zoomed in on his hand after the hit which broke said finger, and you could tell it was injured badly. As far as Dylan and Jeff know though, his recovery is going well, and Jeff Svoboda said "I don't think it going to be a rest of the season kind of thing". He also mentions that of every injured Blue Jacket he see Texier being the "longest time frame" regarding his return. In addition, it is true that Alexander Texier has gone back to France for a visit. This information was also confirmed by Jeff in tonight's "#CBJ Skate Space".
Regarding the spooky trade rumors. Again, I believe Dylan said it and said it best, "the Blue Jackets will take calls on anybody." "Taking calls is different than making calls, that's what I'll say." Again, this is Jeff Svoboda's direct quote from tonight. So, I hope this helps some of the unease, not just with Texier, but other players in the future who also have these same types of rumors circulating about them. The team may listen, but by no means does that hold any truth to the team wanting to depart with that player. Personally, I know I'm relieved. Texier has been a great player for us this season. He's young, at only 22 years of age, and has had 20 total points in 36 games this NHL Season. (11 goals and 9 assists.) For his skill and his sportsmanship as a Blue Jacket, I look forward to telling you all that he's returned to the team and practice very soon. Be assured I'll stay on top of this story and any others which pop up in the future. So, be sure to follow me on both Twitter @cbj_writer and Facebook @bluejacketblogger. Have a good night 5th Line.
Go CBJ!
