Unfortunate Injury Update From Columbus Blue Jackets, After Win Over Devils 3/1/22
So, a bit of bad news. Due to tonight's game being on ESPN+ and HULU, rather than Bally Sports, I don't know if many fans noticed. For that reason alone I knew it was important to write this the moment I saw Jeff Svoboda's update on Twitter. Less than 3 minutes into tonight's game with the New Jersey Devils, the Columbus Blue Jackets lost Center Brendan Gaunce. He's a talented player who has been pulled from the AHL Cleveland monsters a few times this season. In his total 10 games, Gaunce has 3 goals and 2 assists for a total of 5 points. Not bad at all when you consider 2 of those goals were against the Sabres, and his most recent was against the skilled Maple Leafs. With that being said, I personally hope this "upper-body injury", as stated by Brad Larson via Jeff Svoboda (see sourced tweet below) isn't too serious. A few players have yet to return to even practice from the Columbus Blue Jackets Injury Reserve List, so to also be without a strong backup would be a bit upsetting. If anything he has until Friday before he'll officially miss a full game as a Blue Jacket. Wishing him well for sure.

1) "#CBJ lost forward Brendan Gaunce after just 2:42 of action tonight. Head coach Brad Larsen said it was an upper-body injury but would have to get further updates."
