Who Was Seen At Practice Today- 3/15/22

Okay fans, so we don't get overly excited, I will tell you this did not include Boone Jenner.  The Captain is still very much so week-to-week.  With that being said Jeff Svoboda saw many other faces we've longed to see return, even if that longing has only been a few days, in a couple of these cases.  First off, we have a names in the Defensive Line, today.  Boqvist was spotted at practice again today, so this is a constant appearance now.   This team is only 11 points behind the Capitals for the second 2022 Stanley Cup Playoff Spot.  To make that push the D-Line must be strong.  Having him back in the rotation would be a huge key to that happening.   

It's double good news on the Offensive Line.   Danforth, who took an awkward puck to the ankle/foot, last week, was also seen by Jeff Svoboda, today.  Also, Voracek, who we all believed to have a possible season-ending keen injury after Friday Night's collision with Marcus Foligno, was also seen by Jeff today.  Now, the team stepped up without Jenner and him, against the Las Vegas Golden Knights, with a 6-4 win Sunday.  However, Voracek is a great player when it comes to feeding a puck, to a fellow goaltender, for a goal.  He does have 3 goals this season, but an impressive 40 Assists.  Doing that in 57 games, that's just remarkable.  Having him back will be a great bonus to a meshing Offense.  

So, even though the Captain is still on IR, and I wish him the very best in recover, the IR List itself appears to be shrinking.  I think you can all agree with me, it's a great sight to see.  The full practice lineup, Via Jeff Svoboda's eyes, is below for your joy and peace of mind!

Zach Werenski Adds Another Achievement to His 2024-25 NHL Season

Normally, I have to share articles by the NHL because I'm usually working when this kind of news is announced, but today, I'm not! Zach Werenski is proving to doubters that this NHL Season will go down as one of the best in his career. Today, we learned of another achievement he's added to the long list of record-breaking moments, point streaks, and team-leading assists and total points. Zach Werenski, across the league, has added the Third Star of January to this list now, too. Aside from his spectacular goal last night to clench the win for his team in overtime at the Utah Hockey Club, the man has poured on the points in the first month of 2025. His total for just 31 days was six goals and eleven assists for a grand total of seventeen points. He accomplished this over the span of just fourteen games. New York Islanders @ Columbus Blue Jackets: 4/17/25

And so it comes to an end: The season that started as a nightmare ends in a way we could've only dreamed. Yes, I know we're not chasing a Stanley Cup in 2025, but for how this season began...this season shouldn't have ended like this. I'm optimistic, even in light of injuries, pain, and loss, and even I wouldn't have thought that we'd battle the Montreal Canadians for the final Eastern Wild Card spot at game 82 this season. I sure as hell wouldn't have predicted some of the numbers our Blue Jackets put up this season either. I am so proud of this team and where they're going.
