Nick Blankenburg Moves Up The Ranks At CBJ Practice- 4/12/22
Via the eyes of Jeff Svoboda, @JacketsIndiser, and Dylan Tryer, I can inform you all that Nick Blankenburg must be showing the Columbus Blue Jackets some skill. Being the former University of Michigan Captain, with the point streak he had this season, I'm not surprised. However, yesterday he started with Dean Kukan, a notable spot for having jumped from College into the NHL. One day later he's found himself skating, in practice, with Jake Bean. Talk about moving up the chain of command, fast! Now yes, this could be Head Coach Brad Larson seeing best where to place him for the best result. Still though, to feel he might do best alongside Bean is a complement in itself, I think. Remember, he has an Entry Level Contract through just this 2021-22 NHL Season. In my mind though, if he's showing this much potential, so long as he can show such in a game, I think we'll see Mr. Blankenburg back next season.
Speaking of games, it's been a while and the Canadians will play the Blue Jackets, in Nationwide Arena, tomorrow! Puck drop is at 7:00 PM EST. Yesterday Kent Johnson said he wasn't "100% sure" regarding himself playing tomorrow. Nick Blankenburg, however, said no such thing that I remember. Speaking of Johnson also, from my source below you can also see his lineup spot hasn't changed since yesterday. In my mind, if he does play tomorrow, I'd believe he'll debut with Danforth and Bjorkstrand, simply because both practices have been with those two CBJ players. As I said yesterday, not a bad start for either men at all. It seemed that Blankenburg is maybe just finding his spot. Beside Kukan would be great, but him with Bean, that would be just downright thrilling!
Go CBJ!
Dylan Tryer Retweet comments: "KJ back with Danforth and Bjorkstrand today.
