The Win Slipped Through The Blue Jackets Gloves, 5-2 In Boston @ Bruins- 4/2/22

In Period 1 we saw 2 goals, one from Haula of the Bruins was first, at 15:09.  Then, Nyquist would score at 19:32 for the Blue Jackets.  Assists on his goal would go to Sillinger and Peeke.  After 1 period we'd have a 1-1 tied game.

In Period 2 we'd see much of the same, but the goals would be flipped this period.  The first goal of this period would come just 0:42 into the period.  This would come from Danforth, who has been having a great week.  Assists for this goal would go to Chinakhov and Kuraly.  After this, at 18:13, Marchand would score for the Bruins.  Again, tied game but this time 2-2 after a second period of hockey!

Period 3 would be just great defense until 16:06, where Haula would score his second goal of the night.  This would take the Bruins up to a 3-2, one goal lead, will less than 4:00 to go.  Sadly, just a few seconds after Merzlikins was pulled for an extra player, DeBrusk would score at exactly 18:00.  Then, another empty net goal would come from Bruins Coyle at 19:54.  So, sadly, this is how the game would end tonight, with a 5-2 Bruins win.

Tonight was an incredibly close game.  This is another game where you have to look beyond the final score because this team played great, tonight.  I know everyone is wanting a win, I do too.  Again, for how much this team is missing right now, they're playing very well.  For a reminder, no Head Coach, down an Assistant Coach, no Captain, no lead defenseman.  5-2, in Boston, isn't a bad game at all, especially when you look at the game recap above.  The Bruins got away in the third period, up until then they were right on pace with this talented Bruins team.  That is great.

Also, remember 5th Line, now the Bruins come here!  I see revenge from Rick Nash's jersey retirement night on the horizon, folks.  It'll be 1 day shy of exactly a month since, can you believe that?  I can't.  Monday night's game will have a 7:00 PM EST puck drop, again.  Hopefully by then we'll have some coaches back at lease, we'll see and I'll keep you posted.

Go CBJ!
