Bobrovsky Gets Game 1 Third Star Even With Panthers Loss To Capitals- 5/3/22

Going into the third period, the Panthers had a 2-1 lead.  However, a goal from Kuznetsov would tie the game at 2, at 8:14.  After, a puck from Oshie did a flip over Panthers Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky pad, allowing the Capitals to take their first lead of the night.  Bobrovsky would be pulled at the end, which would allow the Capitals to seal the deal, with an empty net from Eller.  The final would be a Capitals win, 4-2.  Also, I know I said I wouldn't do a post unless someone scored or a team won a series.  However, with Sergei Bobrovsky being our former Blue Jackets Goaltender and gaining a star rank, with a loss, I felt he earned this.  On 38 goal shots by the Capitals, Bobrovsky stopped 35.  Not a win, but definitely not a bad showing in Game 1, either.

A note to follow also and I ask everyone be respectful, I know everyone's feelings, but just keep comments to yourself.  Tom Wilson appears to be injured.  All I caught was something with his nose, but he returned after that in the second.  He warmed up, but went back to the locker room in the second period.  I never saw him return.  So, that would be something big to watch going forward in this series and the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Again, congrats on a game well played Bob, good luck in Game 2 Thursday.  Puck drop is at 7:30 PM EST.
