Florida Panthers Advance To Round 2 Of Stanley Cup Playoffs For First Time Since 1996! 5/13/22

Let's set the table here.  Tonight the Panthers played the Capitals in the capital.  The Capitals had to win tonight to force a Game 7, whereas the Panthers had to win tonight to close out their first Playoff Series win in well over 2 decades.  With the hype around this game now understood, let's go to Period 3 all.

At 14:17 we'd see a goal from Panthers Captain, Barkov.  This would give the Panthers the lead, 3-2.  As the seconds ticked down, many thought this series was over.  As always, it isn't over till that final buzzer.  With just 1:01 remaining in Period 3, Oshie would score his 6th goal, yes 6th goal of his 2022 Playoff Campaign.  This would tie the game at 3-3, sending us to bonus hockey, again!

To this point, Sergi Bobrovsky had faced 35 shots on his goal, letting 3 pass for scores.  Not bad at all.  To Overtime we go.

At 2:46, Verhaeghe would get his 6th, most likely most important goal, of the Playoffs so far.  This will advance the team to it's first Round 2 Playoff bid since 1996.  A huge congratulations to them.  I will say, Capitals fan or not, you can't deny they put together a noble effort in this series.

All total, Bobrovsky would face 37 shots on his goal.  2 happened in the short, Overtime Period.  He turned away 34 and will now prepare for Round 2 with the Florida Panthers!
