Former Blue Jacket Brandon Saad Gains Assist In 4-0 Shutout Against Wild In Game 1 Round 1- 5/3/22
So, technically this game started last night, bein May 2. However, as I write this it is officially May 3rd. Again, I'm covering former Columbus Blue Jackets in the playoffs on other teams. If they score I'll write a post. If their team wins a series, I'll write a post. If this doesn't interest you, have no fear, I'll be writing game recaps and news for the Columbus Blue Jackets too in the off season. My writing for other teams is temporary and will end at the conclusion of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoff.
With that being said, Brandon Saad would gain a point in this game! As I said in the title of this blog post, the St. Louis Blues schooled the Minnesota Wild in Round 1, Game 1. Brandon Saad's assist point would come on the final Blues goal of the game, in Period 3, on Perron's goal at 13:34. His would be the second assist on the goal. Again, this games final would be a shutout for the Blues 4-0 over the Wild, in Minnesota.
Amazing enough, with former Blue Jackets Domi and Cole gaining an assist each tonight, for the Hurricanes in their 5-1 win over the Bruins, this gives 3 of the 4 players I'd been watching tonight a point, less Foligno. However, I'm sure Figgy will get one soon, I can feel it. How do you like that 5th Line? I know I do. Again, I'll always wish our guys were out there representing Columbus, but having great players out there who were once hear is a second best for me, always. Well done guys, keep it up!
We'll have even more Blue Jackets to watch tomorrow night. I'll do a preview for all the Round 1, Game 1's of night 2, tomorrow afternoon. Check back here for that. Also, tomorrow we'll resume our highlights for the Columbus Blue Jackets season! Check back for that too, 5th Line.
No matter where you are or who you're cheering on right now, Go CBJ!
