New York Islanders @ Columbus Blue Jackets: 10/28/23 Game Recap

Tonight's Columbus Blue Jackets Halloween was full of more tricks than treats. In period 1, Kyle Palmieri would score at 15:45 for the visiting Islanders. The second period would have no goals. Then, at 16:39, Matt Martin would score for the Islanders. This would give them a 2-0 lead and, ultimately, the win. Spencer Martin was excellent in the Columbus Blue Jackets net, but it wasn't enough tonight. The same could be said for the blue jacket offense. They had so many powerplays, breakaways, and chances...none just got through the Islanders' stronghold of a goalie, Semyon Varlamov. It's unfortunate because this game was far better than the final score would lead you to believe.

Spencer Martin, our goalie all game, would come away with the second star of the game tonight. He earned this after a .0930 Save Percentage. The Islanders hit him with 33 shots, and he only missed 2.

We must put this game behind us because we go on the road. Monday, we will play the Dallas Stars at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. We'll look to start a new point-streek then, 5th Line.

Go CBJ!
