Columbus Blue Jackets at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games: 2/12/26

Tonight, we saw Team U.S.A play Team Latvia. The United States team has Columbus Blue Jackets' Defenseman Zach Werenski, while Team Latvia has Columbus Blue Jackets' Goaltender Elvis Merzlikins. Zach Werenski would come away with the secondary assist on the first goal scored for Team U.S.A tonight by Brady Tkachuk at 5:29 in Period 1. This would be the only point for Zach Werenski in this opening game. 

Elvis Merzlikins was fantastic in the net, doing all he could to keep his team in the game. That said, Team U.S.A would score three goals in Period 2, breaking the 1-1 tie the period started with. Team U.S.A would score one more goal in Period 3 to seal their 5-1 win. 

Team Latvia will host Team Germany on Saturday at 6:00 p.m., and the game will be on Peacock. 

Team Germany will then host Team U.S.A on Sunday at 3:00 p.m., and that game will also be on Peacock.

Ottawa Senators @ Columbus Blue Jackets: 2024-25 NHL Season Game 76

A few special moments before we begin the recap tonight. First, congratulations to Meredith Gaudreau, her children, and the extended Gaudreau family on the birth of Carter Michael Gaudreau. I sigh in relief, knowing that he is here and both mom and baby are doing well. I love seeing the photos of him with his big sister, Noa, and brother, Johnny Jr. In addition, the fact Carter was the same size and weight as his dad when born could move you to tears, it has me.  Another big moment tonight as the puck dropped; congratulations to Erik Gudbranson on game 800 of his NHL Career! Columbus Blue Jackets @ Anaheim Ducks: Season 25 12/20/25

First, a warm welcome to Mason Marchment! He joins the Columbus Blue Jackets after General Manager Don Waddell sent two draft picks to the Seattle Kraken this afternoon for the Forward. He's certainly the type of guy you would rather have in your locker room than your opposition, that's for sure. I love that he's already slotted in to play tonight, and I can't wait to see his impact on our team. Spoiler alert: We don't have to wait long to see it!   The Anaheim Ducks would come out on home ice looking for revenge. Not only did we beat them in our first of two meetings this season in Nationwide Arena, Monday, with an overtime 4-3 win, but the Ducks were beaten bad last night. The Dallas Stars gave them hell last night, on home ice, with an 8-3 final. At 2:14, Mikael Granlund would get his home team on the board first with his sixth goal this season.
