Seattle Kraken @ Columbus Blue Jackets: Season 25 3/21/26

With tonight's game being earlier, I did miss a fair bit of it. Sorry, 5th Line. We will pick up with my typical blog in Period 3. That said, this is how the scoring worked out for both teams by period up to that point.

Period 1: Columbus Blue Jackets lead 3-1 after the opening period. This is how.

Columbus Blue Jackets Scoring:

Denton Heinen: 1-0-1 His goal was scored at 2:48

Boone Jenner: 0-1-1. His assist came on Denton Heinen's goal. This is his twenty-second this season.

Zach Werenski: 0-3-3. Zach had an assist on every Blue Jackets goal this period. These are his Fifty-third, fifty-fourth, and fifty-fifth this season. He sits at 75 points after this period.

Damon Severson: 1-0-1. He had the Blue Jackets' second goal of this game at 8:58.

Cole Sillinger: 0-2-2. He had his twenty-fourth assist on Damon Severson's goal and his twenty-fifth on Mathieu Olivier's goal.

Mathieu Olivier: 1-0-1. He had the Blue Jackets' third goal tonight at 15:16.

Seattle Kraken:

Vince Dunn: 1-0-1. He would have the Kraken's first goal at 16:17. It would be his eleventh goal this season.

Kaapo Kakko: 0-1-1. He would have the primary assist on Vince Dunn's goal.  It would be his nineteenth assist this season.

Frederick Gaudreau: 0-1-1. He would have the secondary assist on Vince Dunn's goal. It would be his sixteenth assist this season.

Period 2: The middle period would end with the Blue Jackets leading the Kraken 4-2!

Seattle Kraken Scoring:

Kaapo Kakko: 1-1-2. With Kent Johnson in the box for high-sticking Kraken's Ryker Evans, Kaapo Kakko would score his eleventh goal this season at 8:31.

Eeli Telvanen: 0-1-1. He would have the primary assist on Kaapo Kakko's goal. This is his thirty-third assist of the season.

Brandon Montour: 0-1-1. He would have the secondary assist on Kaapo Kakko's goal. This is his twentieth assist this season.

Columbus Blue Jackets' Scoring:

Kent Johnson: 1-0-1. He finally got past a goalie at 9:33! This is his seventh goal of the season.

Conor Garland: 0-1-1. He picks up the primary assist on Kent Johnson's goal. This is his twentieth assist this season.

Adam Fantilli: 0-1-1. He picks up the secondary assist on Kent Johnson's goal. This is his thirty-first assist this season.

Funny enough, Period 3 would only have one goal, and it would take Cole Sillinger to a 1-2-3 night! His goal would be scored on an empty Kraken net at 17:24! Mathieu Oliver would have the only assist on this goal, his eleventh this season, giving himself a 1-1-2 night. The Blue Jackets bump themselves up to 85 points this season with this home win! We keep our 3rd spot in the Metropolitan Division and gear up for a road game matchup unlike any other this season. We will play the New York Islanders in their home arena tomorrow night, at 7:00 p.m., who occupied the 3rd spot in the Metropolitan Division before we took it from them Thursday night. I cannot wait for tomorrow night!

Damon Seveerson gets the Third Star of the Game with his game-winning goal in Period 1.

Zach Werenski gets the Second Star of the Game with his three assists tonight, all in Period 1.

Cole Sillinger gets the First Star of the Game with his empty net goal in Period 3 and two assists in Period 1.

This takes our Blue Jackets to a TWELVE-GAME WIN STREAK!

GO CBJ!!!!
