3 IN A ROW! Blue Jackets Top Senators 4-1 In Ottawa! 3/16/22

The Senators would open the scoring in Period 1, with a goal from Ennis.  Time of this goal was 9:48.  However, the Blue Jackets would come back and match that goal at 15:13.  This goal came from Roslovic.  The Assists would go to Werenski and Laine.  After 1 period we start a new game, tied at 1 goal a piece.   Period 2 was Blue Jackets X 2!  At 2:40 Robinson would have his 8th goal of the 2021-22 Season.  Assists would go to Werenski, again!  Also, the second assist would go to our star goaltender, Merzlikins!  Good for him, he's now had 2 Assists, so far, this season.  At 14:21 we'd have another Blue Jackets goal, this time from Roslovic, again.  No assists on this goal.    In Period 3 we wouldn't see a goal until a Kuraly empty netter at 18:23.  No Assists on this goal.  4-1 is your final in which the Offense, Defense and Goaltender all clicked, again.  For this reason I can't imagine any big m...

Lineup Shifts For Blue Jackets @ Senators- 3/16/22

We have some changes ahead of tonight's Blue Jackets @ Senator's Game!  One thing not changing, who's in net.  That job, again, falls on Elvis Merzlikins.  After the Shootout Wing against the Wild and the 6-4 victory over the Golden Knights, I'd have picked him too Coach Larson.   Aside from the net, there are a few other updates.  We'll see Bayreuther come out and be replaced by Carlsson.  This is the only Defensive Line changeup though.   On the Offensive side we'll see two men come out, this being Gaunce and Fix-Wolansky.  Why?  For good news of course!  Danforth, who was hit in the ankle/foot with a puck, just a few games ago, is ready to return.  Also Voracek, who had that nasty knee collision with Marcus Foligno in the Wild game?  He's coming back to the game too, tonight!   Now, we do still have a few players out.  The most notable being thee Captain, Jenner.  I can't wait to see him come ba...

Who Was Seen At Practice Today- 3/15/22

Okay fans, so we don't get overly excited, I will tell you this did not include Boone Jenner.  The Captain is still very much so week-to-week.  With that being said Jeff Svoboda saw many other faces we've longed to see return, even if that longing has only been a few days, in a couple of these cases.  First off, we have a names in the Defensive Line, today.  Boqvist was spotted at practice again today, so this is a constant appearance now.   This team is only 11 points behind the Capitals for the second 2022 Stanley Cup Playoff Spot.  To make that push the D-Line must be strong.  Having him back in the rotation would be a huge key to that happening.    It's double good news on the Offensive Line.   Danforth, who took an awkward puck to the ankle/foot, last week, was also seen by Jeff Svoboda, today.  Also, Voracek, who we all believed to have a possible season-ending keen injury after Friday Night's collision with Marcus F...

Minor Blue Jackets Lineup Change- 3/14/22

Not a lot of news today after the 6-4 win last night, over the Las Vegas Golden Knights.  With the Injury Reserve List the team currently has, I find this to very good news!  Today, the AHL Cleveland Monsters got back one of their best players, Fix-Wolansky.  With the Right Winger no longer in Columbus, maybe someone is coming back from the Injury Reserve List?  I can't say for certain, but when AHL players are sent back, this is typically the case.  Fingers crossed.  Although, after last night, I think we'll be okay as those on the Injury Reserve list heal!   Go CBJ!  Source: Jeff Svoboda Retweet from CBJ Public Relations Twitter Account: "  TRANSACTION: #CBJ have assigned RW Trey Fix-Wolansky to @monstershockey "

6-4 Blue Jackets Over Golden Knights- Cole Sillinger Hattrick- A Statement This Blue Jackets Team Is One To Watch

This was a busy first period 5th Line!  First off, Laine is just fine, eh?  At 2:12 he would score the first goal.  Assists going to both Nyquist and Roslovic.  The Golden Knights would answer at 3:13 with a goal of their own, from Marchessault.  We'd also see them score, again, at 7:23, from Carrier.  Their 2-1 lead wouldn't last long though!  At 11:53, we'd see the young Sillinger score his 9th goal on his first NHL Season.  Assists going to Bjorkstrand and Kukan!  Here we're tied at 2-2.  Then, less than a minute later, at 12:23, Bjorkstrand decided he wanted his own shot to go into the Vegas net!  12:23 was the time for his goal.  Assists to Domi and Kukan.  3-2 was the score after just 1 period of play!  In Period 1, we also saw a major conflict on the ice, Domi would get into it with a Vegas Golden Knights.  This would end with #7 and #14 in the box for the Golden Knights, and only #16, Domi, in the box for...

Blue Jackets Player Announcements Before Tonight's Game, At Home, Against Golen Knights- 3/13/22

Okay, 5th  Line, I waited to do this for a reason.  Today there have been a lot of if's, then's, and changes, just since this morning.  One thing we know for sure from yesterday, Captain Boone Jenner is definitely out.  It also turns out that this situation was a long time coming, according to Brad Larson, via Jeff Svoboda.  The Captain had been "battling this for a while" (Jeff Svoboda) but now he can't play through it anymore, apparently.  Seeing him on IR made Brad Larson state that the Blue Jackets Captain has a "crushed soul" right now, and I'm not surprised.  Jenner was given that "C" because he wants to be here and in every game with this team.  To sit out for him, it would be crushing, no doubt.  Remember Fix-Wolansky has been brought down from the AHL Cleveland Monsters to fill his spot in the lineup tonight, and likely the near future, too.   This one comes as no surprise to me, and likely not to many of you, either. ...

NHL Comes Through With Fine On Voracek Hit- 3/12/22

Well, the refs might have missed this hit, but the NHL sure didn't.  After a knee-on-knee contact situation with Jake Voracek, which appeared to be initiated by Marcus Foligno of the Wild, he's been fined for his actions in Columbus, today.  The Maximum fine is $5,000.00 and that's what the NHL has decided to make him pay.  To those who make remarks about Voracek not being honest, regarding his injury, I encourage you to go watch this hit, in slow motion, again.  I will not speak ill of any player, I don't know what he was thinking in the time of the hit, and to assume isn't right.  However, this was questionable contact, and according to CBSSports, Voracek is on the Columbus Blue Jackets Injury Reserve list, as of this morning, due to this hit.   To me, this fine is justified.  I agree though, the fine is enough.  Why?  There is nothing to confirm this hit was intentional.  As such, from past writeups I've done regarding fines and ...
