New Jersey Devils @ Columbus Blue Jackets: Season 25 12/31/25

Happy New Year's Eve, 5th Line!  Our Columbus Blue Jackets have won their last three games in regulation, and they'd look to keep the streak going tonight at home as the Devils come to Nationwide Arena from New Jersey! The shots on goal battle would end tied 10-10 at the end of the opening period, but the Blue Jackets would lead 1-0 on the scoreboard! At 6:18, Mason Marchment would score his third goal since joining our franchise, his eighth this season. He's played as a Blue Jacket for only five games, and tonight has done something no other player of ours has in the team's history: scored a point in his first five games, going 4-2-6. It just goes to show what a new city and teammates can do for a player. Kirill Marchenko adds assist number seventeen to his season on the primary, while Dysin Mayo gets his first assist in his first game as a Blue Jacket on the secondary! Congratulations to him! Also, a huge congratulations to our Captain, Boone Jenner. With that assist...

Columbus Blue Jackets @ Ottawa Senators: 12/29/25

Recently, the Columbus Blue Jackets have been showing off their talents on the ice. Tonight would be no different as they'd look to make their winning ways into a winning streak. They'd have a strong first period, winning the shots on goal battle 12-7, and also scoring the only goal of the period at 15:58! That goal would become Captain Boone Jenner's sixth this season, while giving Cole Sillinger his thirteenth assist this season on the primary, and Charlie Coyle his eighteenth assist this season on the secondary. Bonus: Mathieu Oliver would win a fight in his first period back from injury reserve against Senators' Kurtis MacDermid. Both men got five minutes each for fighting, although I don't think Kurtis MacDermid got a hit in before a fresh Mathieu Oliver took him to the ice!  The Blue Jackets wouldn't let up in Period 2, expanding their lead to 2-0 at 1:21 after Damon Severson launched the puck toward the Senators' net and scored goal number three of hi...

New York Islanders @ Columbus Blue Jackets: Season 25 12/28/25

Our Columbus Blue Jackets left for the holiday break on a high note, beating the Kings in L.A. 3-1. Tonight, with Mathieu Olivier returning from injury reserve, the Blue Jackets would look to continue winning and gaining much-needed points. At 8:09, Kirill Marchenko would add his twelfth goal to his season total, as well as the first goal to the scoresheet tonight! Newly acquired Mason Marchment gets his tenth assist this season, but first as a Blue Jacket on the primary. Denton Meteychuk rounds out the assists with the secondary, giving him nine this season. A late lucky bounce would allow the Islanders to tie the game at 1-1 at 17:16 in Period 1. Max Shabanov gets the goal, giving him his fourth this season. Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Anthony Duclair each skate away with their ninth assist this season on this tying goal. The Blue Jackets played skilled hockey this period, not just by scoring the first goal, but by winning the shots on goal battle 15-9.  Period 2 would start wi...

Columbus Blue Jackets @ L.A. Kings: Season 25 12/22/25

We'll start this post with the elephant in the arena. It's no secret that this 25th Season of the Columbus Blue Jackets has been full of highs and lows. Injuries are always an enemy to any sports team, and they bit us again on Saturday as Zach Werenski took a stinger to his ankle. To our relief, the team reported today that Zach Werenski will rest tonight, but didn't break anything in that nasty puck-to-ankle collision. Whew. The Blue Jackets also lost that game, 4-3 in regulation, to the Anaheim Ducks. But, there was a light in this game named Mason Marchment, who had his first goal as a Blue Jacket early in Period 2. The former Seattle Kraken, who joined our franchise late Friday, would turn that light into a full-on spark in Period 1 in tonight's game.  At 4:07, Mason Marchment would put the visiting Blue Jackets on the scoreboard first in L.A.! This gives him six goals this season, two with his current team. In addition, with the Kings' Kevin Fiala in the box fo...

Columbus Blue Jackets @ Anaheim Ducks: Season 25 12/20/25

First, a warm welcome to Mason Marchment! He joins the Columbus Blue Jackets after General Manager Don Waddell sent two draft picks to the Seattle Kraken this afternoon for the Forward. He's certainly the type of guy you would rather have in your locker room than your opposition, that's for sure. I love that he's already slotted in to play tonight, and I can't wait to see his impact on our team. Spoiler alert: We don't have to wait long to see it!   The Anaheim Ducks would come out on home ice looking for revenge. Not only did we beat them in our first of two meetings this season in Nationwide Arena, Monday, with an overtime 4-3 win, but the Ducks were beaten bad last night. The Dallas Stars gave them hell last night, on home ice, with an 8-3 final. At 2:14, Mikael Granlund would get his home team on the board first with his sixth goal this season. Olen Zellweger hits double-digits with his tenth assist on the primary, while Frank Vatrano gets his third assist this ...

Minnesota Wild @ Columbus Blue Jackets: Season 25 12/18/25

The Columbus Blue Jackets would look to ride the high of their overtime win over the Anaheim Ducks, 4-3, on Tuesday, as the Minnesota Wild came to town tonight. The two teams meet only twice this year, and the first time, in Minnesota, the Blue Jackets rocked the ice, winning 7-4. That said, tonight's Wild team wasn't the team they faced in October for one superstar reason: Quinn Hughes. The once Vancouver Canuck was dealt last week and has had a warm welcome, clicking with his new team early on. Tonight's challenge for the Blue Jackets wasn't just to win and get two points, but to contain an energized Hughes as well. They did a pretty good job of it, too. Let's recap some hockey, 5th Line! Period 1 would hold just one goal, and it would belong to a Blue Jackets' Defenseman who's been straight fire here for several seasons: Zach Werenski. His twelfth goal this season, at 15:20, would give the home team a 1-0 advantage. Charlie Coyle gets assist number sixtee...

Anaheim Ducks @ Columbus Blue Jackets: Season 25 12/16/25

After a disappointing loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Home ice Saturday, the Columbus Blue Jackets look to tonight's home game for redemption and points. This season has been full of narrow regulation and overtime losses. That said, the Blue Jackets would come out tonight against the Anaheim Ducks and score first. In his 600th NHL Game, Zach Werenski would score his tenth goal this season at 8:21! Captain Boone Jenner adds his ninth assist this season on the primary, while Yegor Chinakov adds his third on the secondary. The Blue Jackets would lose the shots on goal battle, 9-6, but lead where it matters, 1-0 on the scoreboard!  The Ducks came up empty in Period 1 despite good opportunities. The Blue Jackets would kill off the last of a power play early in Period 2, but the Ducks would manage to tie us with an even-strength goal at 3:35. Their goal would come from Ryan Strome, becoming goal number two of his season. Ryan Roehling gets assist number nine added to his season...

Vegas Golden Knights @ Columbus Blue Jackets: Season 25 12/13/25

The Vegas Golden Knights might have 39 points and be at the top of the Pacific Division, but the Blue Jackets, who currently sit at 32 points and just outside the wildcard spot, held their own tonight on home ice. Charlie Coyle's fifth goal this season at 7:02 would be the only one scored in the first period. Zach Werenski continues racking up points, adding his twenty-fourth assist this season on the primary, while Cole Sillinger gets his eleventh on the secondary. The Blue Jackets would also win the shots on goal battle in the first twenty minutes, 9-8!  Period 2 would be just as competitive as Period 1, I'm happy to report. At 00:41, the Knights would tie the game early with a power play goal as Damon Severson sat in the box for tripping Mitch Marner. This goal would be the thirteenth this season for Pavel Dorofeyev. The primary assist would end up becoming Mitch Marner's twenty-fourth this season, while J Eichel would add number twenty-nine on the secondary. Later on in...

Ottawa Senators @ Columbus Blue Jackets: Season 25 Game 29

The Blue Jackets would start this game with the first two shots on goal and looking dominant on home ice, but that would change quickly as David Perron would score his fourth goal this season at 6:58 after slipping the puck between Elvis Merzlikins's padding. Dylan Cozens would get to add his eleventh assist on the primary, while Drake Batherson would add his sixteenth with the secondary on the first goal tonight. This goal would start a hemerage of sorts for the Blue Jackets in Period 1. Drake Batherson would have a 1-1-2 night at just 8:11 into Period 1 after scoring his thirteenth goal this season. His goal would take the visiting  Senators to a 2-0 lead. David Perron would also gain a 1-1-2 night with this goal, as he adds the primary assist on this goal to his total tonight, giving him eleven assists this season. The secondary assist would also give Dylan Cozens an early 0-2-2 night, and his twelfth assist this season. A few minutes later, Charlie Coyle would be sent to the bo...

Columbus Blue Jackets @ Carolina Hurricanes: Season 25 Game 28

Tonight's game would be fast and furious, but the Blue Jackets would handle this well, especially against one of the better teams in their division. Only one goal would come out of Period 1, and it'd belong to the visiting team! With Tyler Hall in the box for the Hurricanes after tripping Isac Lundestrom, Dimiteri Voronkov would add goal eleven to his season on the power play at 12:39. Sean Monahan adds assist number twelve to his season with the primary, while the secondary assist becomes number fifteen this season for Kirill Marchenko. The Hurricanes would lead in shots, 9-6, but this period would end with the Blue Jackets in the lead, 1-0!   The speed would not let up in Period 2, and the Hurricanes would continuously push for a goal. Two powerful and skilled Hurricanes would eventually get the puck past Jet Greaves, who was spectacular the whole game. Seth Jarvis would add goal number seventeen to his season at 9:42. The only assist on this goal for the Hurricanes would go...

Columbus Blue Jackets @ Washington Capitals: Season 25 Game 27

The Washington Capitals are 1st in the Metropolitan Division of the NHL, but tonight, the Columbus Blue Jackets kept pace with them. It's impressive as the Blue Jackets played at home last night, against the back-to-back Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers, losing in Overtime 7-6. Playing a full game plus before flying to another state for a game the following night is no small feat, but the Blue Jackets managed it well.  The Blue Jackets and Capitals would close out the opening period tied at 0-0. The Blue Jackets would lead in scoring for the first twenty minutes, topping the Capitals 12-9. In Period 2, the Capitals would get the puck past Jet Greaves after Jakob Chychrun scored number eleven of his season. The primary assist gives Tom Wilson his fifteenth this season, while the secondary assist gives Anthony Beauvillier his fifth of the season. The Blue Jackets would prevent any further scoring for the second period, but the Capitals would prevent the Blue Jackets from tying t...

Detroit Red Wings @ Columbus Blue Jackets: Season 25 Game 26

Following the thrilling road win at the New Jersey Devils on Monday night, full of fights and goals, it was time for our boys to fly home and prepare for tonight's game. We welcome the Red Wings from Detroit to Nationwide Arena. In addition, we thank Luca Pinelli for coming to help the Columbus Blue Jackets while Kirill Marchenko was out injured, as he returns to the ice tonight! With all of this said, it was sure to be an exciting home game, and after nearly a full period of the Blue Jackets doing everything right except getting the puck past the goal line, Ivan Provorov would for the first goal of the game at 17:55! This 1-0 lead would mark goal number four of Ivan Provorov's season, while Brenden Gaunce would add assist number two of his season! The period would end with the Blue Jackets leading shots on goal 8-6 and the game 1-0.  Period 2 would hold a lot of action for both teams. With Ivan Provorov in the box for two minutes with a delay of game penalty, Dylan Larkin wo...

Columbus Blue Jackets @ New Jersey Devils: Season 25 Game 25

5th Line, you're not ready for this spicy game recap! The game wouldn't start the best for our visiting team. Nico Hischier would add goal ten to his season with only 1:28 gon in Period 1. This would also be a power play goal for the Devils as Zach Werenski sat in the box for his first time this season. Honestly, the fact that it took him 25 games, as a defenseman, shocks me a little! Jesper Bratt would gain his twentieth assist on this early goal with the primary, while Dawson Mercer would add his eleventh on the secondary. The Devils would then go up 2-0 within a couple of minutes after Ondrej Palat scored his second goal this season with 3:03 gone in the first period. This goal would have only one assist, belonging to Arseny Gritsyuk, his seventh so far this season. After these two quick scores, the Blue Jackets' Denton Mateychuk would steal back a goal on the power play at 9:54 after Devils' Brenden Dillon sat in the box for hooking Blue Jackets Isac Lundestrom! Thi...
